Unique Garments

Unique Garments is over in Okhla, specifically at M-22. It’s an industrial area, so there are a lot of factories and big warehouses around us. Our building is a bit old, and the stairs are steep, but it gets the job done. We spend our days surrounded by boxes of clothes and rolls of plastic for packing. It’s mostly about getting things ready to be sent out. The M-22 block is always busy with delivery vans coming and going at all hours. We have a small office corner with an old desk where we keep our papers. The rest of the space is just for the garments. It can get very dusty in Okhla because of all the construction and the trucks, so we are constantly wiping down the tables. We usually bring our own lunch from home and eat together on the packing table around noon. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we have a few extra tubes to see what we're doing when we're checking the seams of the clothes. It’s not a shop where you’d see fancy displays; it’s more of a working space where the focus is on the actual garments. We’ve been in this location for a few years now, and we know the tea stall guy at the corner pretty well. Life in Okhla is fast, but inside our unit at M-22, we just take it one pile of clothes at a time. It works for us.
