Software Apparel & Textiles

This place, Software Apparel & Textiles, is tucked away in Sector 12 sec 12. It is a bit of an odd mix if you think about it, dealing with both computer code and rolls of fabric. We have one side of the room where the computers are set up and another side where we keep all the samples and textile swatches. It can get a bit dusty from the fabrics, so we have to wipe down the keyboards and screens pretty often. Being in Sector 12 makes it easy for us to get around. Most of us take the local bus or just walk if the weather is okay. We spend a lot of time looking at patterns, both the digital kind and the ones printed on cloth. It is a lot of back and forth throughout the day. Sometimes we are arguing about a software bug, and other times it is about a thread color that does not look right under the office lights. The office isn't anything special to look at. We have some metal shelves that are sagging under the weight of old catalogs and textile books. We really should clear those out one of these days. There is a small radio that usually plays the local news in the background. It helps fill the silence when everyone is focused on their own tasks. We are not a huge corporation with a fancy lobby and a receptionist.
