Shukla Marbles

Shukla Marbles is located right on the Main Dadri Road in Barola, over in Sector No. 49. If you are driving down that way, you will probably see our yard full of big stone slabs leaning against the walls. It is a noisy place because of all the traffic on the main road and the sound of the saws cutting through the marble. White dust gets on everything, including our hair and clothes, but that is just part of the job. We have been working out of this spot for quite a few years now. It is mostly just me and a couple of local guys who handle the heavy pieces. We do not have an office with air conditioning or a website for people to look at. People usually just pull their trucks over when they see something they like. We spend a lot of time moving stones around with the crane or by hand if they are small enough. Some days are very slow and we just sit in the shade of the back wall. Other days, we have several tractors waiting to be loaded at once. It can get pretty tiring lifting those heavy slabs all day long. We just focus on keeping the yard organized enough so we can find the right pieces when someone asks. It is a straightforward way to earn a living here in Sector 49 and we know most of our neighbors.
