National Marble

National Marble is over in Sector 9, at E-19. It’s a pretty straightforward place. We have been here for a while and the yard is usually full of stone slabs. Marble is heavy and it gets dusty, so our clothes usually show what we’ve been doing all day. We don’t have a big sales team or anything. It’s just us showing people the different blocks and pieces we have available. Some days are slow and we just sit around and talk, but then a big truck comes in and everyone has to move fast. Sector 9 is a decent area for this kind of work. We have different types of stone coming in and out all the time. If you walk into E-19, you’ll see crates and pieces of cut stone everywhere. We don’t really bother with making the place look like a showroom. It’s a workspace. We cut things, we move things, and we try to make sure nobody gets hurt because these slabs are no joke. People come by looking for something for their kitchen or floors. We show them what’s in the back and that’s about it. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the summer, making the white stone almost too bright to look at without squinting. We like it here and we know the neighborhood well. It is a loud place but we are used to the noise.
