Our shop is at C-118 in Sector-65. It’s a typical industrial area with a lot of other units around us. You can hear the noise from the street all day long. We’ve got the garment manufacturing going on inside. It gets pretty hot in the summer, so we have those big industrial fans blowing all the time. The space is filled with sewing machines and long tables where we layout the patterns. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with all the rolls of fabric everywhere. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. People usually just come straight to the back where the work is happening. I’ve been running this place with my brother for a few years now. We learned the trade from our father. It’s hard work and the hours are long, especially when we have a big order to finish. We don’t use any high-tech systems, just the same methods we’ve always used because they work. Sometimes we lose a needle or run out of a specific thread color and someone has to run out to get more. It’s just the daily grind. We keep the doors open to let some air in, even if it’s a bit dusty. It’s a plain brick building, nothing special to look at, but it’s where we spend most of our lives. We just make clothes and try to keep the machines running without too much trouble.
