I have my shop, Shivam Mobile Shop, in the Chhijarsi area, quite close to the Barat Ghar in Sector 63. It’s a small corner of the world, but it stays very busy. Because of the Barat Ghar, there are always weddings and parties nearby, which brings a lot of people to this street. My shop is filled with glass counters that hold different mobile phones and a lot of colorful cases. I spend most of my time behind the small counter in the back where I fix broken phones. The parts are so tiny that I have to use a special lamp and a lot of patience. Sometimes my eyes hurt by the end of the day from looking at those small circuits. I usually have a helper with me, and we share a tiffin for lunch. The floor is just simple tile, and I sweep it every morning when I open up for the day. People come in with all kinds of problems, like phones that fell in water or screens that are completely smashed. I try my best to get them working again. The street outside can be quite dusty, so I have to wipe down the glass cases several times a day. It’s a simple business. I know most of the people who live around here. We talk about the news or the local events while I work on their devices. It’s a steady routine.
