If you go into Savitri Market in Sector 18 and look for GS 28, that’s where we are. The market is always crowded, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping. Our store is small, and we have glass counters filled with phones and accessories. It gets quite loud with all the people walking by and the other shopkeepers calling out. We spend most of our time showing people different models or helping them find a charger that actually works with their phone. It’s a lot of standing around and talking. We have a small stool behind the counter, but we don’t get to sit on it much. The lighting is very bright so people can see the screens clearly. Sometimes we have to deal with people who are upset because they dropped their phone in water, and we have to tell them it might not be fixable. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three customers come in at once. We keep the spare boxes in the back, but the back room is basically a closet. There’s a guy nearby who sells great samosas, so that’s usually our lunch. Working at the Mobile Store means meeting a lot of different people every day. Some are nice and some are in a hurry. We just try to help them find what they need and keep the shop running smoothly until we close up for the night and head home.
