Samrat Knitwear

Samrat Knitwear is tucked away in Plot No-C/153 in Noida. If you know this part of Uttar Pradesh, you know it is all about manufacturing and getting things made. We handle a lot of fabric here and the sound of machines is pretty much the background noise of our lives. It’s dusty sometimes and the sun beats down on the roof in the summer but we keep going. We aren't doing high-end runway stuff, just good old knitwear that people actually wear. The floor is usually covered in bits of thread and some of us have been working together for years. We know each other's families and what we like for lunch. It’s a simple setup. We take the orders, we knit the stuff, and we send it out. No big meetings or fancy presentations are needed. We just look at the samples and make sure they look like they are supposed to. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment is due, but mostly we stick to a regular schedule. Noida 201301 is where we belong. It’s busy and loud and there are always trucks moving around the industrial plots. We like the grit of it. Being in India means there is always something happening and we are just glad to have our little spot here in the middle of it all. We just keep our heads down and get it done.
