Our place, Saloni Fashions, is at E-14 B in Sector-8. This area is full of small workshops and factories, and we fit right in. We have been here for a good while, dealing with all the daily ups and downs of the garment trade. It's a busy spot. You’ll see people moving rolls of cloth and loading vans all day long. Inside our unit, things are usually humming with the sound of needle work. We don't have a big corporate setup or a team of people in suits. It’s just us and the tailors. We spend our time looking at samples and making sure the measurements are right. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to fix it on the fly, which adds to the chaos. We drink a lot of tea to keep going. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are more focused on the orders. It’s a practical space. We’ve got shelves stacked high with threads of every color imaginable. When someone visits, they usually have to navigate around a few boxes of finished goods. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the office. We just care about the work we put out. It’s a local business, run by people who know the trade inside out. We know our neighbors and we know the struggle of the afternoon heat in the summer. We just keep at it and get the jobs done.
