Saima Mix & Match

Saima Mix & Match is over in the Shree Amar Complex in Atta. If you know Atta, you know how packed those lanes can get with people looking for a deal. Our shop is one of many, but we’ve tried to make it our own over the years. We deal with a lot of different pieces, trying to help people find things that go together. The counter is usually covered in various items because someone is always trying to compare colors or fabrics. We have a few fans that hum all day long to keep the air moving. It’s not a very big shop, so we have to be smart about how we stack the boxes. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized during the afternoon rush, but we straighten it all out once things quiet down. We know the guys in the shops next door, and we often help each other out if someone needs change for a big note or a cup of water. It’s a community feeling even if everyone is busy with their own work. We don't bother with any high-tech gadgets; a simple notebook and a calculator are enough for us. The stairs leading up to the complex can be a bit steep, but people don't seem to mind. At the end of the day, we pull down the metal gate, put the lock on, and join the crowd heading home.
