If you head over to Sector 22 in Noida, you’ll see our building at H-230. This part of the city is really known for garment work. You can hear the sound of sewing machines from almost every building on this street. Our place is no different. It’s a busy environment. There are always piles of fabric being moved and people checking patterns. The floor is usually covered in little threads and scraps of cloth. We have a lot of workers coming in early and leaving late. It’s not a quiet office job. It’s loud and it’s fast. We have big tables for cutting and rows of machines. The lighting is bright so people can see the stitches. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come in, you’re likely to walk right into a stack of boxes. We drink tea twice a day, usually brought in from a local vendor in those small glass cups. The summers get really hot here, so we have big fans blowing all the time. We work on a lot of different orders for various clients. Sometimes it’s simple shirts, other times it’s more detailed stuff. We just focus on the task in front of us. No one here is worried about corporate titles. We just want to make sure the garments look right before they go into the shipping bags. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do here.
