Prolific Engineers

Our shop is down at D-91 in Sector-2. If you walk in, you’ll probably see grease on the floor and hear the sound of machines running. It’s not the cleanest place, but that’s how engineering shops usually are. We spend most of our time looking at blueprints or fixing some part that didn’t come out right the first time. The guys here have been doing this for a while, so they know the machines pretty well. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we spend the whole afternoon trying to figure out why. It’s frustrating but that’s the job. Sector-2 is a busy spot, so there’s always something going on outside. We have a small office where we keep the records, but mostly we are out on the floor. It gets pretty hot in the summer, especially when all the equipment is running at once. We don’t have fancy uniforms or anything like that. Just old shirts and work boots. We take our breaks together and talk about whatever is on the news. It's a regular life. We just try to get the orders done so they can go out on time. There is always more work to do tomorrow. It’s just a steady grind here at Prolific Engineers, keeping the parts moving and making sure the measurements are okay. It takes a lot of patience to get the metal to do what you want.
