We are over at B-29 in Sector-2, which is a busy little area for small businesses like ours. Pret Apparel has been running out of this unit for a while now. If you walk inside, the first thing you hear is the hum of sewing machines. It’s a constant sound that we’ve all gotten used to. We deal with all kinds of fabrics and patterns every day. There are rolls of cloth stacked against the walls and thread clippings on the floor no matter how often we sweep. It’s a very hands-on environment. We have workers who have been with us for years, sitting at their stations and focusing on the details of whatever garment is on the table. It’s not a high-fashion studio with bright lights; it’s a workshop. We deal with bulk orders and specific designs, and sometimes things get a bit chaotic when a deadline is approaching. We’ve had days where the machines break down or the fabric delivery is late, but we always figure it out. Sector-2 is a good spot for us because it’s easy for our suppliers to find. We don’t put on airs about what we do. We just make clothes. It’s hard work, and the hours can be long, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished piece of clothing boxed up and ready to go out the door. We just focus on the stitching and the fabric.
