Pooja Garments

If you take a drive down to Site 5 in Epipkasna, you will find us at D 45. Pooja Garments is tucked right in there among all the other industrial units. Since it is a dedicated industrial area, there is always the constant background noise of machines running or big trucks backing into loading bays. We spend our days surrounded by rolls of fabric and piles of thread. It is definitely not a quiet or peaceful office environment. There are large tables covered in cut cloth and people are always moving from one station to another. We have been at this particular spot for a long time now. The floor is just plain concrete and we have these big industrial fans that we keep running to try and move the air when the afternoons get really hot. Every now and then the power might flicker, but we just wait a second and get right back to work once it is steady again. Most of us eat lunch at our desks or sit on the steps outside if the weather isn't too dusty. We aren't trying to impress visitors with any nice furniture or decor. It is a functional space built for making things. The tiny bits of lint and thread from the textiles seem to get into every corner, so someone is always sweeping up. We know most of the other workers in Site 5 and see them at the main gate every morning. It’s a hardworking neighborhood and we just try to get everything finished before we head home.
