Pehnawa

We have been here in Sharma Market for quite some time now, right near Vinayak Hospital in Atta. It gets pretty loud outside during the afternoons when the traffic picks up on the main road, but inside it stays okay. Most days start with opening the shutters and sweeping the front bit of the floor because dust settles overnight. We have some racks of clothes and the lighting is a bit old, maybe a bit dim in the corners, but people find what they need eventually. The Sector-27 area is always moving, so there is never really a quiet moment unless it is raining hard. We don't have much space for a big sign or anything like that, just the name above the door. Sometimes the neighbors come by to talk about the weather or how the market is changing. It is just a regular shop where we hang things up and wait for whoever walks in. The stairs nearby are a bit narrow, so you have to watch your step when you are coming from the hospital side. We mostly just keep things tidy as much as we can. It’s not a big fancy showroom with glass walls or anything, just a spot in the market where we do our work day after day. Sometimes the tea guy misses our order, but that is how it goes here. We just stay here and keep the shop open until it is time to go home to our families.
