We set up this dance studio in Sector 20, right near the Fratcure Hospital at C-48. It is a basic room with some big mirrors on the walls and a floor that we try to keep clean. People come here to move around and learn some steps. We have kids coming in after school and some older folks who just want to stay active. It is not like those fancy TV studios. It is just a place to practice. Sometimes the music is a bit loud and the neighbors might hear it, but they are used to us by now. We have a few instructors who know their stuff. They are not world-famous, just people who love to dance and are good at showing others how to do it. The entrance is simple and we have a small bench for people to wait on. It gets pretty sweaty in here during the summer, but we have some fans going. We do not care if you are good at dancing or if you have two left feet. We just want people to show up and try. That is the whole point of having a local studio like this. The floorboards creak a little in the corner near the window. We have been meaning to fix that but never got around to it. It adds character to the place. We have a small cubby area where the kids leave their shoes.
