Naushad Tailors

You can find Naushad Tailors over at Sector 27, Shop No C 4 in Indira Market. The market is always loud and there are people moving everywhere, which is just how it is in this part of town. Our shop is not very big, but it fits the sewing machines and the big cutting table we use. We have stacks of fabric all over the place, some for suits and some for regular shirts. The lights inside are very bright so we can see the threads clearly when we work. Most of the day is spent hunched over the machines or marking out fabric with our white chalk. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have a small wall fan that helps a little bit. People come in with old clothes that need fixing or new cloth to get a shirt made. We still use the same measuring tapes we have had for years. Indira Market has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of that daily noise. When the power goes out, we just sit and wait or use the manual pedal machines if the work is urgent. It is not a fancy place, just where we sew and do our work. We keep the scissors sharp and the needles ready. Sometimes customers sit on the small stool and talk for a bit while we finish their stitching.
