Modesty Garments

Our little setup is at T-42 in Sector-12. Noida has a lot of sectors, but we like this one because it feels a bit more settled. Modesty Garments is mostly just a few of us making sure the production stays on track. The building isn't the newest on the block, but it keeps the rain out and gives us enough room to breathe. We have been here through the hot summers and the cold winters. Usually, there’s a radio playing in the background while we work. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the bell rings, whoever is closest to the door goes to see who it is. Most of the time it’s just a delivery or someone looking for directions. We’ve got stacks of fabric everywhere, mostly cottons and blends. Sometimes the scissors go missing and we spend ten minutes looking for them under the cutting tables. It’s a bit disorganized at times, but we know where everything is. Running a business like this takes a lot of patience. You have to deal with vendors and transport issues almost every day. We don't have a big corporate philosophy. We just show up in the morning, do the work, and go home to our families. It’s a decent way to earn a living in the city and we hope to stay here for a long time.
