J D Fashion is located right in Central Market. It is one of those places that is always teeming with people. We have been here for a good while. The shop is simple. We don't have fancy lights or a big display window. We just put our clothes out where people can see them. Central Market is a competitive place, but we have our own group of people who come back to us regularly. We sell mostly daily wear, things that people need for work or home. The floor is old tile and it creaks in some spots. We don't mind. It gives the place character. My father started this and now I run it. We have seen the market change over the years. New shops come and go, but we have stayed in the same spot. We don't use a computer for our accounts. We just use a big ledger book and a pen. It is easier for us that way. The noise from the street is constant, but you stop hearing it after a few hours. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the other shop owners when it’s quiet. We aren't trying to be the most modern shop in the area. We just want to provide what people are looking for without any fuss or trouble. It is a basic shop for basic needs. That is all we ever wanted it to be for the neighborhood. We close up at eight and do it all again tomorrow.
