Gurung Apparels Private Limited is located in Sector 22, specifically in G Block, at number 176. This part of the sector is mostly industrial, so you’ll see a lot of people in uniforms walking around during the lunch hour. Our facility is a solid concrete building that has seen a lot of years. Inside, the main floor is filled with rows of sewing machines and heavy-duty cutting tables. It’s a very noisy environment once all the motors start running in the morning. We have a small gate where the workers enter, and a larger shutter for the fabric rolls to come in. The office is just a tiny partitioned space at the front where we keep the registers and the telephone. We don’t have air conditioning in the main work area, just large industrial fans that hum all day long. The smell of new fabric is very strong when you first walk in. Most of the people here have been working in the garment trade for a long time, so they know exactly what to do without being told. We don’t put a lot of effort into making the place look fancy; it’s a factory meant for production. There are always stacks of cardboard boxes waiting to be taped up and sent out. It’s a tough, fast-paced environment, but we’ve managed to keep things moving at Block 176 for a good while now. We just focus on the daily tally and making sure the machines are oiled.
