Group Ashima (Garment Unit)

Our garment unit, Group Ashima, is located in Noida, specifically in Sector-61. We are at C-701 in the Parkview Apartments. It might seem a bit odd to have a unit in an apartment building, but that’s how we have things set up for now. Noida is a big, sprawling place and Sector-61 is a fairly well-known area. The "Parkview" name is nice, though we spend most of our time looking at fabrics and machines rather than out the windows. It’s a busy workspace. There are always scraps of thread on the floor and the sound of machines running. It’s not a quiet place, and it’s definitely not a corporate office with a water cooler and a lounge. We’re here to work on garments, and that’s what fills up our day. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time finding the right entrance to the apartments, which can be a bit of a mess. We don’t have a big sign outside or anything fancy. It’s just us working through our orders and making sure everything is finished on time. We’ve been in this spot for a while and have gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. The heat in Noida during the summer can be pretty intense, but we just keep the fans on and keep going. It’s a very hands-on kind of job, and our space reflects that perfectly.
