Global Trendz

B-30 Sector-65 is where we spend most of our waking hours. It is an industrial part of the city, so there are factories and warehouses all around our building. We do a lot of clothing work here at Global Trendz. The machines are loud and they run for most of the day without stopping. You have to shout a little bit to be heard over the hum of the motors when everyone is working. We have rows of tables where people are busy stitching or checking the seams of the garments before they get packed. The floor is often covered in loose threads and bits of fabric that we sweep up at the end of every shift. It’s not a quiet place, but it has a rhythm to it that you get used to after a week. We keep the inventory on metal racks that go all the way up to the ceiling. Finding something usually involves a ladder and a bit of luck. The air smells like new cloth and sometimes machine oil. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small space with a couple of chairs where we talk about the day's tasks. Outside in Sector-65, the roads are usually dusty and full of delivery vans coming and going. We eat our lunch quickly and get back to the tables because there is always more to do. It’s just a regular garment unit doing what needs to get done.
