Engineer Automotive Products

Out in Sector 10 at D 361, you’ll find our workshop. It’s called Engineer Automotive Products, but we’re mostly just a bunch of guys who know our way around a car engine. The place is full of heavy tools, old tires, and the smell of engine oil that never really goes away. We’ve got parts lying around everywhere, and the floor is stained with grease from years of work. It’s a noisy environment with the sound of wrenches hitting metal and engines being revved up. We don't have a waiting room with magazines or coffee. Most people just stand around and watch us work or come back later in the day. It’s hot in the summer because we have to keep the big bay doors open to let the air in. My hands are almost always black with soot and grease, and it’s hard to get them clean even with the strong soap we use. We take on all sorts of jobs, from simple things to stuff that takes a few days to figure out. Sometimes we run out of a specific part and have to wait for the delivery guy to show up, which slows everything down. It’s just the daily grind here. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We’re just here in Sector 10, working on vehicles and getting them back on the road. It’s a plain and simple business for us.
