Dress Code

At Dress Code in Sector 10, the industrial atmosphere really dictates how we spend our time. Our address is B-28, and it’s a place filled with the constant rhythmic clicking of sewing machines and the hiss of steam from the pressing tables. We work mainly on apparel, handling everything from the initial cutting of the fabric rolls to the final packing of the finished garments. There are stacks of cardboard boxes everywhere you look, waiting to be filled and shipped out. The air is often thick with a bit of fabric lint, and we keep the large industrial fans going to stay cool while we work. It’s not a quiet office job; it’s a hands-on environment where people are always moving between the cutting tables and the finishing area. We don't have time for a lot of talk, as there are always deadlines to meet and orders to get out the door. Sometimes we have to double-check the stitching on a whole batch if something doesn't look right. We keep a stash of spare needles and bobbins because things break when you run the machines this hard. Lunch is usually a quick affair before we get back to the stacks of cloth. It’s a tough business being in the industrial area, but we’ve got a system that works for us. We just focus on getting the pieces sewn and out the door. There is always more cloth to cut tomorrow.
