Over in Sector 10 at the Industrial Area, our space at Dress Code is mostly about the sound of industrial sewing machines and the steam from the heavy irons. Being in an industrial zone means everything moves a bit faster. We have rolls of fabric arriving in trucks and finished boxes going out the door every other day. It’s a lot of cutting, stitching, and checking buttons. We deal with bulk orders mostly, so you’ll see rows of the same color fabric being processed at once. The lighting is harsh, and the fans are always spinning to keep the dust off the clothes. We don't really have a fancy front desk; it's mostly just desks covered in patterns and sample pieces. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment needs to be ready by morning. The staff here knows their way around the overlock machines and the cutting tables. It’s a repetitive job, but seeing a whole stack of finished garments packed and ready feels good at the end of the shift. We have a small corner for tea and snacks, which is where we usually talk about the day’s work. There’s always a bit of lint on everyone’s clothes by the time they leave. It’s just the way it goes when you work with textiles all day long in Sector 10. We just keep our heads down and keep the machines running through the afternoon heat.
