Our place is at E-178 in Sector-63, which is one of the busier parts of Noida. If you walk into our unit, you’ll see it’s filled with rolls of cloth and people working at their stations. We call ourselves Dress Code, but it’s not some high-fashion studio with bright lights and runways. It’s more of a practical workspace where we get things made. The sector is full of similar buildings, so you really have to look for the number on the gate. Inside, it’s usually a bit of a mess with scraps of fabric on the floor and patterns pinned to the walls. We spend our days coordinating with tailors and checking on the latest batches. Sometimes the machines act up or the fabric delivery is late, and we just have to figure it out as we go. It’s a small team here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering the phone to packing boxes for delivery. We don’t spend much on decorating the office because we’d rather have better equipment. The summers in Sector-63 can be pretty tough, but we have enough fans to keep the air moving. It’s a simple business. We take an idea, cut the cloth, sew it up, and send it out. There’s a certain rhythm to it that we’ve gotten used to over the years. No big corporate talks, just the sound of the scissors and the needles.
