F-394 is a busy place, especially in the mornings when everyone is arriving for their shifts. Sector 63 is full of buildings just like ours, but we’ve made this one feel like home. Dexter Apparels isn't a showroom; it's a place where things are actually made. You can hear the machines from the street sometimes. We have different sections for cutting and sewing and packing. It gets pretty hot in the summer, but we have enough fans to keep things moving. We spend most of our time looking at patterns and making sure the stitching is right. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. There’s a lot of back and forth with suppliers and making sure we have enough thread and buttons in stock. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most of our work comes from long-term contacts who have been coming to us for years. We eat lunch together in the small break area, usually talking about the news or what's happening in the neighborhood. The roads around here can be pretty rough, especially when it rains, but we manage. We just focus on getting the boxes packed and out the door on time. It’s honest work and we’re glad to have it. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a big shipment, but everyone chips in to get it done. That’s just how we operate at this facility.
