Cafe Coffee Day

We are tucked away in Sector 11 G 16. It’s not a huge place, but we make it work for the neighborhood. Most of our furniture is a bit older now. I noticed a scratch on the main counter yesterday that I need to cover up somehow. We start by setting out the muffins and sandwiches in the glass case. The fridge hums quite loudly in the back room. I usually turn on some music to drown it out. We get a lot of regulars who live in the apartments nearby. I know most of their names and what they usually order. It makes the day go by faster when you can chat for a minute about the weather. The steam wand on the machine needs a lot of cleaning. If you don't wipe it every time, it gets milk build-up. We keep the extra sugar packets and stirrers in a drawer that sticks sometimes. You have to give it a good tug to get it open. The big windows out front get fingerprints on them all day long. I use a spray bottle and a blue cloth every few hours to keep them clear for the view. It’s nice when the sun hits the tables in the late afternoon. It looks peaceful then, even if we are busy washing dishes in the sink. We just try to keep the coffee hot and the chairs in place for the next person.
