Costa Coffee

The Great India Place is a huge mall and being on the ground floor means we see everything. Our shop is No. 36 and it’s right in the middle of all the Sec-38A action in Noida. On the weekends, the noise from the shoppers is almost constant. We spend our time behind the counter grinding beans and steaming milk. It’s a lot of standing on your feet. The mall lights are always bright, and sometimes you lose track of whether it’s day or night outside. We’ve got these heavy chairs that we have to move around every morning to make sure the floor is clean. Costa Coffee is just our workplace, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the place. We get people who are tired from shopping and just want a place to sit down for a minute. Sometimes the line gets long and people start looking at their watches. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. The fridge makes a low humming sound that you stop noticing after an hour. Every once in a while, the mall music gets a bit too loud, but we just keep going. We handle a lot of cups and cardboard sleeves throughout the shift. It’s a busy spot in U.P., and there’s always something happening right outside our windows. It’s just the usual daily grind for us at this location.
