Bawa Marble

We are over in Sector-9 at I-8, which is where Bawa Marble has been for quite a few years. It’s not the biggest yard in the world, but we pack a lot of material into the space we have. Most mornings start with us hosing down the slabs so people can see the real colors and patterns underneath all the grit and dust. It’s a lot of physical labor, and my back definitely feels it by the time evening rolls around. We have a small shed where we keep the more delicate samples and the paperwork. It’s nothing fancy, just a desk, a couple of chairs, and a ceiling fan that makes a bit too much noise when it's on high. The neighborhood is mostly industrial, so there’s always some sort of construction or moving going on nearby. We don’t spend money on big advertisements. Most people find us just by driving past or because a neighbor told them we had some good granite or marble in stock. We try to be fair with everyone, though the prices of stone seem to change every time we turn around. Sometimes we don’t have exactly what someone is looking for, but we usually have something pretty close. We’ve had the same crew for a long time, so we’ve got a good rhythm down. It's a lot of lifting, measuring, and talking to contractors who are always in a hurry. We just take it one day at a time.
