Our unit is over at C-79 in the Hosiery Complex, Phase Ii. It is an industrial area, so it's mostly trucks and warehouses around here. We deal with various imports and exports, mostly materials that go into making clothes. The building is a standard block like the others on the street. Inside, it's mostly open space for storing crates and rolls of fabric. We spend most of our mornings checking the paperwork and making sure the containers are ready for the loaders. It can get pretty hot in the summer because the ceiling is high and the fans don't do much. But we are used to it. I usually sit near the front door to keep an eye on who is coming and going. We have been in Phase Ii for a decent amount of time now. It’s a good location because the roads are wide enough for the big lorries to turn around. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to get the orders out on time without any mistakes. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s when we usually take a break. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we know each other's families. It's just a regular workplace where we try to keep things moving and stay on top of the shipping schedules. It can be dusty work with all the fabric rolls moving around, but we get it done and go home.
