Amont Software & Equipment

Amont Software & Equipment is situated at G-7, Sector 6. It’s one of those areas that’s designed for business, so it’s got a bit of a structured feel to it compared to the older parts of the city. We have a ground-floor space, which makes it easier when we’re moving equipment in and out. As the name suggests, we split our time between software tasks and dealing with actual hardware. It’s a bit of an odd mix sometimes, having one person coding while another is unboxing a heavy piece of machinery, but it works for us. The office itself is pretty plain—white walls, some sturdy desks, and a lot of cables running everywhere. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist; you just walk in and someone will probably look up from their screen to say hello. Sector 6 is a decent place to work because it’s relatively organized, though finding a good spot for lunch can be a bit of a walk. We spend most of our hours just focusing on the job at hand. Sometimes the work is repetitive, and other times we’re trying to figure out why a piece of software isn't talking to the hardware correctly. It’s a lot of trial and error and sitting in front of monitors. We’ve been here for a few years now, and the routine of the sector has become second nature to us. It’s a steady, predictable environment to work in. We just focus on our tasks.
