We are based in Vil Mailaram, right by the Koratpally post office. Being out here in Nizamabad means we see a lot of local folks daily. Most days start early before it gets too hot. People walk in from the village and surrounding areas asking about work schedules and payments. The office is pretty basic, just some desks and old cupboards full of registers. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done for the people living nearby. We spend a lot of time checking lists and making sure the names are right. Sometimes the internet is slow, so we have to wait a bit to upload data. The road through Dichpally is how most of us get here. It is a quiet place except when everyone gathers for the updates. There’s a tea stall down the path where we grab a drink during breaks. We’ve been here a while now, so everyone knows where to find us. It’s mostly about keeping track of who is working where and for how long. The paperwork piles up, but that is just how it is. We try to answer all the questions as they come. It’s a lot of sitting and typing, then walking out to see how things are going on the ground. Life moves at its own pace in Mailaram, and we are just a part of that daily rhythm. We make sure to close the shutters right on time so everyone can get back home.
