Bharath Mart

Bharath Mart is located right at Shop No. 10 in Chota Bazar. We are very close to the Old Bus Stand, which makes it easy for people to find us when they get off the bus. The Jambi Hnuman Temple is just a short walk away, so we hear the bells in the morning and evening. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot of things into the shelves. Mandal Armoor is a busy place, and there’s always someone walking past the door. We open up early and sweep the front before the sun gets too high. Most of our customers are locals who live nearby or commuters heading to the bus station. We have a small wooden counter where we do all the billing. It’s a bit cramped when we get more than three people inside at once, but nobody seems to mind. We keep the fans going all day because the heat in Chota Bazar can be quite something. The inventory arrives in the evenings, so we usually spend a bit of time after closing to get everything organized for the next day. It’s a family-run kind of place, so you’ll often see my cousins or my uncle helping out behind the counter. We don't have a computer system, just a ledger and a pen. It works fine for us. Sometimes we run out of things, but we try to restock as fast as we can.
