If you ever find yourself in Kothapally, you’ll probably see Anuradha Genaral Store. We are at H-No:5-102/2 in the Makloor Mandal of Nizamabad. It’s just a regular store where we keep the things people in the village need. We’ve been here for a long time, and we know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. It’s not a supermarket or anything like that. Just a simple place with shelves and a counter. We open up early because that’s when people start their day. We might have some dust on the windows from the road, but we try to keep things tidy enough. Anuradha Genaral Store is basically our second home. We spend more time here than anywhere else. Nizamabad can get pretty hot, so we usually have the fan going all day. There’s no big story about how we started. We just needed a way to make a living and the store was the answer. We sell a bit of everything that folks around Kothapally might run out of. It’s a simple life and we don’t complain much. If you need something, you come in, we find it for you, and that’s that. No need to make it more complicated than it is. We’re just here on the corner doing our bit for the neighborhood. It’s been our life for years and we like it.
