Zero Budget Natural Farming Foundation

We operate the Zero Budget Natural Farming Foundation out of a DDA flat, number 152 in Pocket-9, Nasir Pur. It’s in Dwarka, which is a bit of a trek from the center of Delhi, but it’s a good spot for us. We spend our time trying to help people learn how to farm without spending a fortune on chemicals and stuff. It’s a simple idea, but it takes a lot of explaining and showing. The office is basically just a room with some chairs and a lot of books and pamphlets. We aren't a big foundation with lots of money; we’re just a group of people who care about how food is grown. Sometimes it feels like we’re working uphill because everyone is so used to the old way of doing things. We have a lot of visitors coming by to ask for advice or to see what we’re about. It gets a bit crowded in the flat, especially when we have a meeting. We don't have any fancy posters or a big mission statement on the wall. We just talk to people and show them what works. The nursery nearby, Megha Nursery, is a good landmark if you’re trying to find us. It’s a bit of a quiet life here, but we stay busy with the work. We just take it one person at a time and hope it makes a real difference in how they see their land.
