Ram Lal Chanderbhan

The shop is at 9/17 on the main road in Kailash Nagar. It is a busy spot. We see all kinds of people walking by the front window from morning until night. Being on the main road means we have to deal with a lot of dust and noise, but it is okay. We have a small staff and we have worked together for a long time. The shop itself is not very big. We have stuff stored on high shelves and sometimes we need a ladder to get things down. It feels like an old-fashioned place because we have not changed much over the years. The floor is made of old stone and the wooden counter has scratches from years of use. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to drown out the traffic. Customers come in and we know many of them by their names. It is a friendly atmosphere even if it gets a bit hectic when several people show up at once. We do not bother with anything too modern here. We just keep our books and do our business the way we always have. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the front entrance, which is annoying, but we manage. Kailash Nagar is a tight-knit area and we feel like part of the furniture here. The streetlights outside flicker when it rains, but we stay dry.
