Vijay Yadav Sweet Shop

You’ll find Vijay Yadav Sweet Shop near the Purana Shiv Mandir in Mahipal Pur, Rangpuri. It’s a local spot where we make the sweets right in the back. You can often see the big iron pots with the milk boiling down for the mawa. We use a lot of ghee and sugar. The shop isn't very big, and the display cases are always a bit foggy from the heat of the sweets. People come by on their way to the temple or after work. We sell a lot of samosas too, especially in the evenings when the chai is flowing. The floor is usually a bit sticky from the syrup, no matter how much we wash it. We have a few assistants who help with the heavy lifting and the frying. It’s hot work, standing near the fires all day. Mahipal Pur is a busy area with lots of traffic, but near the temple, it feels a bit different. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just see the shop and come in. We pack the boxes with a bit of thread and paper. It’s simple, and it works for us and the people who live around here. Sometimes the cows wander by the door, and the bells from the mandir ring every few hours.
