Out here on Nasirpur Road in Palam, things stay pretty hectic from Monday to Sunday. Being at Wz-3 means we see a lot of the local traffic going back and forth toward the main market area. We handle two main things here, the building stuff like gravel and cement, and then the water tankers. Water is a big deal around Palam, especially during the summer months when the taps go dry and everyone starts calling at once. The yard is usually full of pipes and bags of material stacked up wherever we can find space. We have a couple of old trucks that have seen better days, but they still get the water delivered to the houses that need it. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit of a muddy mess, and we have to put down wooden planks just to walk across without sinking in. My brother and I take turns managing the bookings. It isn’t the cleanest job, and my clothes are usually covered in some kind of white dust by noon. We don’t spend much time on paperwork because there’s always a driver waiting for instructions or a customer wanting to know when their sand will show up. Nasirpur Road is always noisy, but this is where we've been for a long time. It's just a regular local business trying to keep up with the demand for basic supplies while keeping things moving.
