The Near East

Vasant Vihar is a nice area and Basant Lok is always hopping with people looking for something to do. We are at number 15, right in the middle of it all. The shop isn't very big but we make use of every inch of space we have. Most of the time, we’re busy unpacking boxes or arranging the shelves so things don't look too cluttered. It’s a lot of work staying organized when you have so many different things coming in and out. We see a lot of students and people who work in the offices nearby during their lunch breaks. It gets a bit hectic around one or two in the afternoon, but then it settles down for a bit. We don't have a big corporate team behind us, just a few people who show up and do the work. Sometimes we forget to turn the sign on or the door sticks a bit when it's humid outside. It’s just a normal place where we try to keep things running smoothly. We’ve been here long enough that we know when the garbage truck comes and which neighbors like to complain about the noise. We just do our thing and hope people find what they’re looking for when they walk through the door. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s ours and we like being part of the Basant Lok market scene. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily tasks as they come up.
