Target Design Academy

We’re located at number 397 in South Extension Part II. It’s a well-known part of the city, and Target Design Academy has been tucked away here for a while now. The space is filled with tables that are usually covered in scraps of paper, fabric, or sketches. It’s a bit of a mess most of the time, but it’s a creative kind of mess. We don’t have a formal lobby or anyone in a suit greeting you at the door. You’re more likely to find someone with ink on their hands or a ruler tucked under their arm. The rooms are bright because we need the light for the work we do. We have some old computers in the corner for the digital stuff, and they hum quite loudly when they’ve been running all day. South Extension is a busy area, so there’s always a lot of noise from the shops and traffic outside. We’ve grown used to it. People come here to work on their portfolios and try to figure out their own style. It’s a lot of trial and error. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just a few of us making sure there’s enough space for everyone to sit and work. Sometimes we run out of supplies and someone has to run out to the local market to grab more. That’s just the daily routine at Target Design Academy. We’re just here, doing our thing in South Ex.
