Takshila Institute

You can find Takshila Institute over at Madhuban Chowk, 178/12. It’s a very busy part of town, so there’s always a lot of shouting and horns honking right outside the building. Our office is on one of the floors of a typical commercial building. It’s not a glamorous setup. We have rows of desks, some old filing cabinets that don't close right, and a lot of books stacked everywhere. We’ve been at this location for a good while now. The air conditioner makes a bit of a rattling noise, but we’ve learned to ignore it over the years. We don't use big words or try to sound like we’re something we aren't. We’re just a group of people who show up every morning and stay until the work is finished. Madhuban Chowk is a landmark, so at least nobody gets lost trying to find us. We have a small pantry where the kettle is always on. Most of our day is spent at the desks, looking over papers or talking to people who drop by for a chat. It’s a steady, predictable life. We don't have a vision that we talk about; we just handle the tasks for the day and move on to the next thing. Sometimes it gets stressful when deadlines approach, but we manage somehow. The carpet is a bit worn in the spots where people walk the most. It’s a place that sees a lot of use, and we like it that way.
