Surinder Sweets

Surinder Sweets is right in the middle of Netaji Nagar Market at Shop No 69. It’s a small place but it stays busy from early morning until late at night. The air around the shop usually smells like fried dough and warm milk. We have been in Netaji Nagar for a long time, and Shop No 69 has become a bit of a local fixture for the people living nearby. There are no fancy decorations here, just the glass counters and the big pans in the back where everything is prepared. We spend a lot of time over the heat, stirring the large vats. It gets quite sweaty in the kitchen, especially during the festivals when everyone wants something. We don't really do much in the way of marketing. Most people just walk by and see what is fresh that day. Netaji Nagar Market is a friendly place where everyone seems to know everyone else's business. We have a few small tables, but most people just take their stuff and go. I usually start the day before the sun is even up to get the first batches ready. It is a lot of routine, but there is something nice about seeing the same regulars every morning for their snacks. We aren't trying to be anything big, just a local sweet shop doing things the way we always have. It is just how life goes in the market here. We keep the trays full.
