Sukhwant Engineering Works

Our workshop is located at Factory No B/68 in the DSIDC area of Jhilmil. It is an industrial spot, so the whole day is filled with the sound of metal cutting and machines whirring. We do a lot of lathe work and welding here. The floor is concrete and usually has a thin layer of metal shavings on it, no matter how much we sweep. Working in Shahdara means dealing with the heat and the noise of the industrial area, but we have been here a long time. I started this place with just one old machine, and now we have a few more squeezed into the space. We make various iron parts and do repairs on machinery that people bring in from other factories. It is dirty work, and we are always covered in oil and coolant. We don't have a fancy office, just a small desk in the corner with a lot of paperwork and old blueprints. Most of our day is spent standing at the machines or checking measurements with calipers. Jhilmil is a busy place, and we fit right in with the other engineering shops around us. We don't spend money on big signs or anything, people just know us from the work we have done over the years. We open early when the power is steady and work until the evening. It is just basic engineering, done by hand.
