Our workshop is located in Azad Gali No. 4, over in East Rohtash Nagar in Shahdara. It is a small place that was started by Mr. K. C. Arora, and his name is still on the address. Being in one of the narrow lanes of New Delhi means space is tight and things are always a bit crowded. We do a lot of general engineering work, mostly involving metal parts and repairs that the local industries need. The shop is filled with various tools, machines, and metal scraps that have piled up over the months. Most mornings start with clearing a bit of space so we can get to the lathe or the welding station. It is a dusty environment, and the noise from the machines can get pretty loud during the peak working hours. We don't have a fancy showroom or an office with air conditioning. It is just a workspace where we get our hands dirty every day. People from the surrounding areas bring in broken parts or sketches for things they need made, and we just do our best to get them finished. Sometimes we have to wait for materials to arrive from the main market, which can slow things down. We take a lunch break together and then work until the light starts to fade. It is honest, physical work that has kept us going in this neighborhood for many years now.
