Strucee

Strucee is tucked away at No. 45-a in Khan Market, not far from the Taj Mahal Hotel. It is a famous area, but our little shop is quite plain compared to some of the big names around us. We have a small storefront that we try to keep tidy, but it's hard when you have so much stock coming in and out. The space is narrow, so we have to be careful when moving things around so we don't knock anything over. We see all kinds of people in Khan Market, from tourists to locals who have lived here for decades. Being near the hotel means we get some travelers who are just passing through and need something quickly. We don't do much in the way of selling ourselves; we just let the items on the hangers do the talking. The lighting in here is a bit yellow and old-fashioned, which gives it a certain look, I suppose. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or checking the ledgers. It's a busy part of town and the parking is always a nightmare, so we usually take the bus or walk. We've been at 45-a for a while now and the door has a squeak that we still haven't fixed. It’s just how it is. We work hard, stay open late most nights, and try to keep up with the pace of the market. It’s a lot of work but it’s our own thing and we like it.
