The Shop

Being located at 10, Regal Building means we are right in the middle of everything. It’s an old building, so the walls have that thick, solid feel, and the ceilings are quite high. People often get confused by the name "The Shop" because it’s so simple, but that’s just how it’s always been. We don’t see any reason to change it now. Inside, things are laid out in a way that makes sense to us, even if it looks a bit crowded to someone walking in for the first time. We spend a lot of our time unpacking boxes and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s mostly regular retail work, nothing too exciting, but we like the rhythm of it. The light coming through the windows in the morning is nice, though it fades pretty quickly behind the other buildings nearby. We have customers who have been coming to us for years, just checking in to see what’s new on the shelves. It’s a bit of a walk-up, but people don’t seem to mind the stairs. We don’t do much advertising; we just open the doors and get to work. Sometimes we sit around the back desk and have lunch while chatting about what needs to be ordered next or how the weather is changing. It’s just a normal day-to-day life here in the city, trying to keep things organized and making sure we don’t lose track of the inventory we have stored in the back.
