Soni Tution Bureau

At Soni Tution Bureau, we spend most of our day on the phone or talking to parents who walk into our office in Dilshad Colony. Being in F 1, Dilshad Garden, we are right in the middle of a lot of families. The bureau is basically a way for us to connect students who are struggling with teachers who know their stuff. We’ve been doing this from this small office for a long time. The walls are covered with notes and contact numbers written on scraps of paper. It’s a bit disorganized to look at, but we know where everything is. We don't actually teach the classes here most of the time; we just help people find the right match. It’s a lot of listening to what a parent needs for their child. Sometimes they are worried about math, other times it’s science. We know a lot of the tutors personally because they live in the same area. The office is just a couple of chairs and a big old desk. It gets hot in the summer, so we keep the door open to get a breeze. We don't do big marketing campaigns. Most people find us because a friend told them we helped their kid last year. It’s a very local, person-to-person kind of thing. We just try to be helpful and keep the records straight so everyone knows where to go. It works for us.
