Skyline Industries

Skyline Industries is over at G-49 in the Lawrence Road Industrial Area. It’s one of those parts of town where there’s always a truck blocking the road or someone unloading a palette. We’ve been at this unit for a while. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with the actual work to worry about how the building looks from the outside. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of stuff and the sound of whatever we’re running that day. The neighborhood is full of people doing similar things, so there’s always a lot of noise and the smell of grease in the air. We don’t really do the whole corporate thing with big meetings or anything. Usually, it’s just me and the guys figuring out the schedule over tea in the morning. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine breaks down and we spend half the day fixing it ourselves. It’s a lot of manual labor and staying late when a deadline is breathing down our necks. We don’t have a website that’s updated or a fancy receptionist. People just know where we are at Lawrence Road. It’s just how we’ve always done it. We show up, do the production work, and go home when the sun goes down. It’s a simple way to run a business and it keeps us busy enough to stay around.
