Site Engineer

My place is in Sec 2B, Naveen Khand, over in Vasundhara. If you look for H. No 781, that’s where you’ll find me. I work as a site engineer, which basically means I spend my days making sure things don’t fall down. It’s a busy area in Uttar Pradesh, and there is always some construction going on. My office is just a room in the house where I keep all my gear and papers. It isn't very organized, to be honest. There are rolls of drawings everywhere and samples of tiles or bricks sitting in the corners. I think the practical side of building is more interesting than the paperwork. I spend a lot of my time driving between different sites in the 201012 zip code area. It can be stressful when the weather changes or when a supplier sends the wrong stuff. We just deal with it as it comes. I don't have a secretary or anyone like that. When people call, they talk to me. I like it that way because I know exactly what is happening on the ground. It is just me trying to do a decent job for the people who hire me. The days are long and often quite dusty. But that is what you expect when you work in this line of business. There is no polish here, just hard work and a bit of sweat every day.
